Closing the gap between a premium product and a weak brand
BL Marmi owned Icestone, a high-end sanitary fixtures and finishings brand with a turnover of €10M per year, distributed across Europe and the Middle East. The vision was to position it as the premium choice for architects, interior designers, and project developers.
Despite its Italian craftsmanship and innovative products, the brand suffered from a weak, fragmented image and operational chaos in production and delivery. The reality was a premium product trapped in a weak brand and inefficient operations.
🧭 The Gap:
Vision → Lead the premium sanitary fixtures market.
Reality → A weak brand with fragmented identity and inefficient operations.
The strategy (to be a premium leader) was failing due to three critical friction points:
1. Identity Friction: The brand attributes (innovation, quality, craft) were not being communicated effectively.
2. Communication Friction: Presence in local markets was weak, with inconsistent messaging and materials.
3. Production Friction: Orders and deliveries were chaotic, with no alignment between new product development and brand values.
We rebuilt Icestone from the ground up, targeting all three friction points simultaneously:
Redefined brand identity with a logo redesign, new presentation materials, and a clear positioning: "Creative Solutions" for professionals.
Launched a new communication plan: website redesign, product catalogues, participation in Cersaie (key fair), quarterly newsletters, and case studies.
Implemented a new factory information system, aligned NPD with brand values, and launched a new product line: ZWAP.
By closing the gap between brand potential and operational reality, Icestone achieved measurable results:
Close the gap in your business.
The Icestone story shows how identifying and bridging the Growth Gap can transform a brand from weak to chic. This is exactly what the Data Friction Audit does: it detects the friction points holding your business back and builds a 2-page roadmap to close the gap in just 72 hours.
